Kelvin Ngatia Wambugu (b. 1997, Kenyan) obtained his bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Maseno University in Kisumu.
An avid reader of Maya Angelou’s literary work, his work, which is mostly mixed media, explores mostly narratives of black people’s identity, nudity, and sexuality in intimate settings.
Still, in the formative stage of his career, he uses subtle unconventional mixed media techniques, fusing figurative and abstract messages to create unique compositions, a visual language he refers to as Afro-emotionism.
